Every program we run, every relationship we invest in, and every service we hold flows from this single, anchoring purpose.
This is not merely a statement on a wall. It is the living heartbeat of everything Weiming Christian Fellowship does — from Sunday morning worship to Monday morning service.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."— Matthew 28:19–20 (NIV)
Our mission is expressed through three interconnected commitments that shape our community life.
We anchor every dimension of our community life in the teaching, preaching, and personal study of God's Word. Through Sunday messages, small groups, and daily devotional resources, we cultivate a congregation that knows why it believes what it believes.
Faith without works is incomplete. We mobilise our members to serve the poor, the lonely, the newcomer, and the broken in our city. From food hamper drives to English-language tutoring, we put hands and feet to the Gospel's demands.
The second great commandment — to love our neighbours as ourselves — is not a programme; it is a posture. We cultivate relationships across cultural, generational, and social boundaries, seeking the flourishing of everyone in our city.
Many organisations have mission statements. Far fewer live them out consistently across decades. At Weiming, our mission is not reviewed once a year at a board meeting — it is the lens through which we evaluate every initiative, allocate every resource, and make every decision.
When we ask whether to launch a new programme, the first question is always: Does this make disciples? Does this serve our neighbours? Does this glorify God? If the answer is yes to all three, we pursue it wholeheartedly. If not, we graciously decline.
This clarity of purpose is what has sustained Weiming Christian Fellowship through cultural shifts, leadership transitions, and the rapid change of a growing metropolis. Our mission is our anchor — steady, dependable, and life-giving.
